Members of the MySQL Support Team wear a number of different hats here at Oracle. Obviously, our top priority is to provide amazing technical support that makes customers rave. We also have a team dedicated to processing bug reports from the MySQL Community. [Read more]MySQL management plugin for EM 12c has been long overdue. I’ve initially migrated the older plugin to EM 12c about 6 months ago, and few dozen people received this as the initial beta of the plugin. It worked OK but didn’t use any of the new 12c features, and its home page was a bit of a mess in the EM 12c Cloud Control web interface.
I’ve had lots of new features to add, but I didn’t really have much time to invest into completing them all. Finally, I decided to just finish the home page dashboard and clean it up from all unfinished new features. I did, however, finish MySQL Slave configuration and status monitoring, which was the largest gap in the the functionality of the previous plugin. There is no custom UI for MySQL slave management yet (that’s coming), but monitoring is available as standard metrics and configuration management …

On the 8/16 I conducted a webinar titled: "Scale Up vs. Scale
Out" (http://www.slideshare.net/ScaleBase/scalebase-webinar-816-scaleup-vs-scaleout):
ScaleBase Webinar 8.16: ScaleUp vs.
ScaleOut from ScaleBase
The webinar was successful, we had many attendees and
great participation in questions and
answers throughout the session and in the
end. Only after the webinar it only occurred to me
that one specific graphic was missing from the webinar deck. It
was occurred to me after answering
several audience questions about "the difference

Keith Larson: Thank you for allowing me to do this interview with
you. I have been talking with a few different Oracle
ACEs about the MySQL Connect Conference. I figured
the MySQL community might be missing you as well. You have been
very busy with Oracle Linux but I know you still have an eye on
the MySQL Community. How have things been?
Lenz Grimmer: Thanks for including me in this series of
interviews, I feel honored! I've read the other interviews, and
really liked them. I still try to follow what's going on over in
the MySQL community and it's good to see that many of the
familiar faces are still around. Over the course of the 9 years
that I was involved with MySQL, many colleagues and contacts
turned into good friends and we still maintain close
relationships.
It's been almost 1.5 years ago that I moved into my new role here
in the Linux
team at …
I pledged, in my first post last month, that SkySQL will do its part to promote the best of MySQL and its community. Given the recent discovery that Oracle is no longer publishing test cases for bug fixes, and the dialogue surrounding it, it feels like the right time to share my thoughts on what this means to the open source collective, and what we can do – and are doing – about it.
