While I'm in Melbourne in a few weeks for training I'm once again visiting my friends at Linux Users of Victoria (LUV). It's been a while since my schedule coincided with their meeting schedule!

I've been invited to do one of the talks (Sandrine Balbo doing the other), and my topic is "Relax! A Failure is NOT an Emergency." which is although somewhat MySQL-related not actually MySQL-specific.

Last week I gave my first webinar for MySQL titled “Bau sicherer LAMP Anwendungen”. The webinar, which was a cooperation between MySQL and my company SektionEins, was held in german, covered SQL-Malware, SQL-Injection, safe programming and some tools to detect and block SQL-Injection attacks.

Last night I spoke at Lehmanns book store in Hamburg on the new ext/mysqli extension in PHP 5. The talk was a good deal of fun and provided a nice warm up for the upcoming three hour tutorial that Georg and I will give at ApacheCon EU. (Additionally, some sharp audience members caught errors on my slides! :)
