"Idle"

For those who wonder why my blogging is so low these days (apart from today) .. I`m actually writing more Lines of Code than Blog Entries the last couple of weeks:)

And when I`m not writing code I`m reading :) Either proofreading an upcoming book on Zabbix or reading some of the other books Packt sent me.

Next to that I`m busy preparing my T-Dose presentation

Oh and did I mention a 40 something questions questionnaire about some merger ?

T-Dose 2008, a small summary

Today I got back from Eindhoven (NL) where T-Dose 2008 was held in the Fontys University of Applied Science. A nice venue, some good talks, but not to much audience. However, it's was good to sync again with people there, and have interesting chats!

What I liked were the license and foundation talks. It's good to know more about the GPLv3 (which I don't like to much), and it's good to know how an association is build around an OpenSource projects. I also learned lots about CentOS, new OpenQRM stuff, and well.. few other things!

I hope my talk help too, it was about Monitoring MySQL, in and around it.

I'll be there again next year!

T-Dose 2008 is over

It was fun, the good part about T-Dose is that is small enough to actually be able to speak with everybody you want to .. well almost .. there were still some people around I wanted to talk to but I didn't get the chance to . Specially Ber Kessels and Roy Scholten who filled in the gaps in the Drupal track. After my own talk I had to run to the other track so I could answer the tricky questions in our other talk about Open Source Monitoring Tools. And I never really made it back to the Drupal room. So Ber, Roy , next time you run into me I`ll buy you a Beer !

Anyway Pics are up (so Geert now finally has pictures of himself on stage)

Social event …

At T-Dose 2008 conference: Monitoring MySQL

I'll be attending and speaking at the T-DOSE 2008 conference in Eindhoven (NL). In 2006 I talked about MySQL Cluster; this year I'll be talking about Monitoring MySQL. I did it a few weeks ago on the Nagios Conference in Nurmberg (DE) and will continue on that, probably giving more details and examples.Of course, I'll be showing off our MySQL Enterprise Monitor!
The conference spans 2 days, 25/26 October, and I'll be hanging around! Make sure to ask me questions, vent frustration, share success stories, etc..

T-Dose 2008

Roland Bouman and I will be doing a presentation together at T-Dose on October 25th:

Building Open Source BI solutions with Pentaho and MySQL

It’s a free conference, feel free to join us there for a chat and/or a drink!

Until then,
Matt
