Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) 1.6.0 Is Now Available

Percona announces the release of Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) 1.6.0. In this release, Percona Monitoring and Management Grafana metrics are available in the Advanced Data Exploration dashboard. We’ve improved the integration with MyRocks, and its data is now collected from SHOW GLOBAL STATUS.

The MongoDB Exporter now features two new metrics: mongodb_up to inform if the MongoDB Server is running and mongodb_scrape_errors_total reporting the total number of errors when scaping MongoDB.

In this release, we’ve greatly improved the performance of the mongodb:metrics monitoring service.

Compare Current and Past Time Series Graphs in Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM)

In this short blog post, I will show you how you can compare current and past time series in Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM).

Recently, a support customer shared a graph with us that compared query throughput between today and yesterday as a confirmation that optimizing their server variables improved performance.

Do you want to compare workload between today and yesterday? This week and last week? Or this month and last month? You can do this by simply duplicating an existing data source of a graph, but add a time offset so it will render past data. You can specify past offsets in (s)econds, (m)inutes, (h)ours, (d)ays, (w)eeks and even (y)ears.

Say you want to graph query throughput from a certain time period and one day before that. To do this, select the “MySQL Overview” dashboard, and then click the header of “MySQL Questions” panel. The panel menu should appear:

Percona Monitoring and Management 1.5.3 Is Now Available

Percona announces the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.5.3. This release contains fixes for bugs found after the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.5.2, as well as some important fixes and improvements not related to the previous release.

Improvements

  • PMM-1874: The read timeout of the proxy server (/prometheus) has been increased from the default of 60 seconds to avoid nxginx gateway timeout error when loading data-rich dashboards.

Percona announces the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.5.1. This release contains fixes for bugs found after Percona Monitoring and Management 1.5.0 was released.

Percona Monitoring and Management 1.4.1 Is Now Available

Percona announces the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.4.1 on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017. This release contains fixes to bugs found after Percona Monitoring and Management 1.4.0 was released. It also introduces two important improvements. We replaced the btrfs file system with XFS in AMI and OVF images, and the Prometheus dashboard has been enhanced to offer more information.

Percona Monitoring and Management 1.4.0 Is Now Available

Percona announces the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.4.0.

This release introduces the support of external Prometheus exporters so that you can create dashboards in the Metrics monitor even for the monitoring services other than those provided with PMM client packages. To attach an existing external Prometheus exporter, run pmm-admin add external:metrics NAME_OF_EXPORTER URL:PORT.

The list of attached monitoring services is now available not only in the tabular format but also as a JSON file to enable automatic verification of your configuration. To view the list of monitoring services in the JSON format run pmm-admin list --json.
