Percona Live & OpenStack Live 2015 wrap-up

Peter Zaitsev kicks off Percona Live 2015

With highlights that included news of Percona’s acquisition of Tokutek, a lively keynote discussion with Apple legend Steve “Woz” Wozniak, scores of technical sessions, tutorials and a festive MySQL community dinner and game night, last week’s Percona Live MySQL Conference and Expo had something for everyone.

More than 1,200 attendees from around the world converged upon Santa Clara, California for the event, which included for the first time a two-day OpenStack Live track alongside a two-day crash course for aspiring MySQL DBAs called “MySQL 101.”

The Call for papers for MySQL Central @ Oracle Open World closes in just over a week! Now is the time to put together those ideas for a presentation you have had into shape before the last minute rush. The conference starts October 25th but the CFP closes April 29th! But we want you at this conference to present your best material.

So what if you have never submitted a talk in the past to any conference OR have not manged to get accepted for MySQL Central before? Get your best technical material together and write down the topic, 3-5 bullet points, and a conclusion. Then put your title, bullet points, and conclusion into a paragraph. MySQL Cluster Manager 1.3.5 Released

MySQL Cluster Manager 1.3.5 is now available to download from My Oracle Support.

Details are available in the the MCM 1.3.5 Release Notes. Note that this version of MCM now supports MySQL Cluster 7.4 (as well as earlier versions or MySQL Cluster).

On Choosing Mature Technologies

Two recent blogs from engineering managers at successful Web properties have highlighted the wisdom of selecting proven and mature technologies, whether for new startups or projects.

MySQL Cluster 7.4.6 is now available



The binary and source versions of MySQL Cluster 7.4.6 have now been made available at http://www.mysql.com/downloads/cluster/.

MySQL Cluster NDB 7.4.6 is a new maintenance release of MySQL Cluster, based on MySQL Server 5.6 and including features from version 7.4 of the NDB storage engine, as well as fixing a number of recently discovered bugs in previous MySQL Cluster releases.

This release also incorporates all bugfixes and changes made in previous MySQL Cluster releases, as well as all bugfixes and feature changes which were added in mainline MySQL 5.6 through MySQL 5.6.24.
