MySQL Cluster Automatic Sharding for High Availability and Scalability

MySQL Cluster automatically shards data across data nodes on separate hosts which means that your database performance scales naturally as you add more nodes. Data nodes belong to node groups that replicate data so that if one data node fails, another data node carries on working with a copy of the failed node's data. This ensures high availability and scalability.

To learn more about this topic and many other key topics for understanding and using MySQL Cluster, take the MySQL Cluster training course.

You can take this 4-day instructor-led course as a:

Replicate from Oracle to Oracle, Oracle to MySQL, and Oracle to analytics

Oracle is the most powerful DBMS in the world. However, Oracle's expensive and complex replication makes it difficult to build highly available applications or move data in real-time to data warehouses and popular databases like MySQL.

In this webinar-on-demand you will learn how Continuent Tungsten solves problems with Oracle replication at a fraction of the cost of other solutions and

Fully packed SUSE Linux Expert day event in Warsaw

Thu, 2014-10-09 21:36robertsilen

Thanks to everybody that visited our booth at SUSE Linux Expert day in Warsaw, Poland this week!

We had a great time with SUSE, our Polish training partner Compendium, Polish distributor Veracomp and of course IBM. The event was just a day after the SUSE and MariaDB on IBM Power8 announcement.

We were very excited by the number of delegates who came to meet the MariaDB booth. Our event survey showed that a lot of the participants are looking for affordable open source database alternatives like MariaDB. The news that MariaDB is now the default relational …

The Genie in the LAMP

Tue, 2014-10-07 12:07rogerlevy

Remember when the LAMP stack was young? Open source Linux, Apache HTTPd, MySQL, and PHP were the insurgent technologies delivering world-beating performance and scale at unheard-of prices, back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Now, the LAMP stack has evolved and matured. It remains the core of high-performance, scale-out application architectures, and has been for well over a decade now. As a consequence, enterprise software has never been more easily developed, deployed, and scaled than with today’s mature application architectures. Now, web-scale applications handle multiple terabytes of data and millions of users, all with continuous availability, transactional consistency, and easy scaling.

So, how to assemble the most highly-evolved implementation of this industry-standard platform? Who can help you deploy your application with superior performance and scalability, ironclad availability, and …
