MySQL 9.7 came out on April 21 and I’ve been going through the release notes so you don’t have to. The short version: Oracle has made several previously Enterprise-only features available in the Community Edition; the Hypergraph Optimizer is now free for everyone; and if you’re still on MySQL 8.0, it has reached End-of-Life. Like right now.
