MySQL at the Malaysian OpenSource Conference

MySQL team attends and speaks at the MOSC 2014 on September 24-25, 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are having a MySQL booth and above that our local colleague Ricky Setyawan has secured one 45 minutes talk scheduled for Wed, Sep 24 @2:15-3:00pm on the MySQL Web Reference Architecture.

We will also run two hours workshop on MySQL Fabric scheduled for Thursday, Sep 25 @2:30-4:30pm. If you are around do not forget to come to our booth and/or visit our MySQL session & workshop!

Report on MySQL User Camp, Bangalore on 20th June, 2014

MySQL User Camp Bangalore organized on 20th June, 2014 started as per plan. It was a good gathering. We got many users from different companies like Flipkart, CTS, CGI, Yahoo, Onze Technologies, Webyog and few other startups. Apart from this we also got 2 Mysql customers this time from UID Aadhar project managed by HCL.

Event started on its scheduled time with a welcome speech by Srinivasarao Ravuri, (Senior Manager, Software Development at MySQL India) . He thanked all the attendees for coming followed by a brief agenda and handed over the mic to the speakers for presentation.

    MySQL at PHP UnConference on Island of Majorka & Solutions Linux & Open Source Conference Paris

    The PHP UnConference is taking place on May 17-18, 2014 on the Island of Majorka. MySQL team is going to be presented by Ulf Wendel at this event. As usual for all UnConferences there is no sessions/talks schedule announced prior the conference, attendees might vote for the most interesting topics at the event.     MySQL at OpenSUSE Conference, Dubrovnik, Croatia & JavaScript UnConference, Hamburg, Germany

    MySQL at OpenSource Developer Conference, Taiwan (Apr 11-12, 2014)

    It is our pleasure to announce MySQL presence at the OpenSource Developer Conference in Taipei, Taiwan next week. MySQL has secured 2 talks and the booth where you can meet our MySQL experts. Please mark your calendars for April 11-12, 2014, especially for following MySQL talks:

    • Sharding and Scale-out Using MySQL Fabric by Ryusuke Kajiyama, the OSS specialist with over 10 years of experience in system design utilizing MySQL and Open Source solutions. His talk is scheduled for Apr 11 @ 10:20-10:50.
    • MySQL Utilities by Ivan Tu, the MySQL Sales Consultant in Taipei. Ivan has Java programming background and is experienced in both, MySQL and Oracle database. His talk is scheduled for Apr 11 @ 11:50-12:20.

    MySQL at LOADays Conference in Antwerp, Belgium (Apr 5-6, 2014)

    This weekend we are going to be part of the LOADays Conference (Linux Open Administration Day) a free open source event hold in Antwerp, Belgium, followed by the tutorial on Monday, April 7th.

    Do not miss to attend this small but friendly event hold in Antwerp, the second biggest city in Belgium and the capital of the Antwerp province. So, you can join the sightseeing with attending LOADays and getting in touch not only with a Linux people but also with MySQL!!

    MySQL is represented by our colleague Carsten Thalheimer who is going to have a talk about "Why MySQL in a Business critical environment". His talk is planned for Sunday, April 6, 2014 @ 13:30.

    It has been a few busy months until now. I have moved from Italy to Thailand, and the move has been my first priority, keeping me from attending FOSDEM and interacting with social media. Now I start catching my breath, and looking around for new events to attend. But before I get into this, let’s make a few things clear:

    On Thursday, I will travel to Boston, MA, to attend the Northeast LinuxFest, which includes also an edition of the Open Database Camp. The events will be at one of my favorite places on earth: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a.k.a. the MIT. Every time I speak at an event there, I feel at home, and I look forward to be there once more.

    The last MySQL User Group NL meeting was last Friday. It's always nice to learn about MySQL and meet other MySQL users. There were two presentations: one about MySQL User Defined Functions (UDF's) and one about MySQL TCO. The slides are available from the meetup page.
