Solaris Cluster comes bundled with rich support for numerous software applications.

Follow the link to see a list of all the Solaris Cluster Agents available in the latest release of  Solaris Cluster  - SC 3.2 01/09.
For most of these applications the latest versions are supported.  In this blog I specifically want to highlight the latest support
for the SAP NetWeaver stack and highlight some key features provided by Solaris Cluster to make SAP highly available on
Solaris.

Solaris Cluster 3.2 HA SAP Web Application Server agents now support SAP 7.1 on S10 SPARC and X64. You will need

Working together with the MySQL team
Employee +0 Vote Up -0Vote Down

One year after Sun acquired MySQL we see the positive results of this acquisition. Things are going very well in terms of collaboration, the teams are getting closer together and share the experience and the knowledge. If you want to know how the teamwork is seen from the Sun Cluster engineers, Thorsten Frueauf and myself, you should read this.

It was interesting for us to see that this interview was well observed by MySQL customers and community members. Although the interviews were not technical, they lead to technical questions. You can get more information here.

So if you are keen to see what the MySQL community wants to know about Sun Cluster, read the blog entry about MySQL and Sun Cluster.

Solaris Cluster and Open HA Cluster are ready for MySQL 5.1
Employee +0 Vote Up -0Vote Down

If you want high availability for MySQL databases on Solaris or Open Solaris consider Solaris Cluster / Open HA Cluster. Solaris Cluster supports all available releases for MySQ 5.1. The MySQL agent for Solaris Cluster is usable with the release candidates of MySQL 5.1, and definitely with any final release of the MySQL 5.1 enterprise server or the community server. In addition to 5.1 we support all the current versions up to 5.0.51a.

With Solaris Cluster, you can achieve high availability for the MySQL database server and other applications in the same cluster. Solaris Cluster provides you with a rich framework to orchestrate any start or restart dependencies between the MySQL database server and other applications. You can even combine master and slave databases within the same Solaris Cluster. So you can achieve highly available masters and highly available slaves.
